Project 2

Objective: This project requires me to transform my website redesign proposal into a functional prototype. The prototype should visually and interactively showcase the proposed improvements, demonstrating your design and UX skills effectively.

Key Features of the Prototype

Intuitive Navigation Bar:
  • A simplified, responsive navigation bar ensures users can easily access core sections, such as Discover, Playlist, and Artists.
  • Dropdown menus offer additional options, maintaining a clean layout without overwhelming the user.
Personalized User Dashboard:
  • The prototype includes a user dashboard for registered users to create playlists, save favorite tracks, and manage preferences.
  • Interactive widgets provide recommendations based on listening history.
Enhanced Search and Filter Tools:
  • Advanced search functionality allows users to filter music by genre, mood, artist, and year.
  • Tags and suggestions appear dynamically as users type, making search faster and more accurate.
Responsive and Adaptive Design:
  • Fully optimized for mobile, tablet, and desktop viewing, ensuring a seamless experience across devices.
  • Features such as collapsible menus and touch-friendly elements enhance usability for mobile users.
Interactive Music Catalog:
  • Users can preview tracks directly from the catalog, reducing the steps needed to access content.
  • Engaging visuals, such as album covers and artist bios, provide additional context and immersion.
Streamlined Contact Page:
  • A user-friendly contact page includes options for feedback, support, and business inquiries.
  • Social media integrations encourage interaction and community building.


Design Decisions During Development

Simplified User Flow:
  • User feedback highlighted the need for quicker access to music and playlists. To address this, the layout minimizes clicks required to reach key sections.
  • Breadcrumb navigation was added for better orientation within the site.
Color Palette and Typography:
  • A modern, vibrant color scheme was chosen to reflect the energetic nature of a music catalog website.
  • Readable, sans-serif fonts were used to maintain a professional and approachable tone.
Visual Hierarchy:
  • Large, high-quality visuals were strategically placed to highlight popular tracks and artists.
  • Call-to-action buttons were styled for visibility
Consistency Across Pages:
  • Design elements such as button styles, icons, and spacing were standardized to create a cohesive experience.
Technical Feasibility:
  • Lightweight design components were prioritized to ensure fast load times, even for users with slower internet connections.
  • Responsive frameworks, like Bootstrap, were integrated to ensure cross-platform compatibility.

Alignment with Redesign Objectives

  • By incorporating features like personalized recommendations and interactive previews, the prototype increases user interaction with the platform.
